Reviews:
"An enchanting combination of
American and French favorites by a woman who is part Edith Piaf, part
cowgirl, and always (all ways) wonderful."...New Texas / April
1992
"Albert's achy, crystal voice sounds
so good in both languages that this project doesn't just float-it flies in
spots."...Austin Chronicle / March 1992
"for those who can imagine a waltz
across Texas with Maurice Chevalier."
Austin American Statesman / January 1992

A skeptical college guidance counselor once
asked me what I planned to do with a major in music and languages. .. "Sing in
French?" Not a bad idea! This one is for him, wherever he is.
Actually, my French Swiss mother came to the states as a young woman. Growing up I spent
many hours sitting around the kitchen listening to her, my aunt and grandmother as French
sounds rolled off their tongues. Gorgeous. My high school French introduced
me to the music of Edith Piaf and I was hooked. Several trips to Paris over the
years to visit my grandmother further embedded the sounds of France in my psyche.
Texas is my home and where my music originates. Thus, TEXAFRANCE blends these two very
special influences. I hope these songs bring you as much pleasure as they have
brought to me. Enjoy! Christine
THIS IS FOR MOM, ANDREE, AND LILY, OF COURSE.
SPECIAL "MERCIS" TO MITCH WATKINS, MARK HALLMAN, DANNY LEVIN, PAUL GLASSE, JOHN
